Looking northwest. The spire seen was a C of E church until 1984, but it was then sold to another denomination. It sees little activity now.

The Grove
Another one bites the dust. I know nothing of this establishment but these days when pubs are owned by property companies and not breweries it is becoming nearly impossible to persuade the bean counters that pubs are worth running. If for argument's sake a pub makes £200k clear profit in a year the money people can see 10 years' profits coming in one just financial year simply by flogging the place off for development. Then again there is a housing shortage and I suppose the country needs dwellings more than pubs.

At the junction of Dulwich Common, which is part of the A205 South Circular, and the very busy Lordship Lane, photography of this pub. is challenging, to say the least.
