Decaying early nineteenth-century building, 20-22 Hamlet Road, Upper Norwood
This pair of semi-detached houses (which appear to pre-date much of the mid-nineteenth century Gothic development that followed the erection of the Crystal Palace) had been derelict for some years at the time of the picture. The buildings are grade II listed (https://historicengland.org.uk/advice/heritage-at-risk/search-register/list-entry/1378925 ).
The sign announced a sale by auction some three days prior to taking the photograph; it remains to be seen if this will lead to renovation or to demolition in order to squeeze in a block of flats.

Blue plaque to Ira Aldridge, Hamlet Road
Ira Aldridge, "the African Roscius", was a pioneering black actor in the 19th century (Roscius was a famous Roman actor whose skill was legendary). This was taken shortly after the blue plaque went up and a few days before the official unveiling. The records of the abolished Greater London Council indicate that a plaque for Aldridge had been under consideration in the early 1980s, so he got there at last.

St Paul Penge: last survivor of the old church
St Paul Penge was previously a Victorian building, tucked between buildings and described in Betjeman's guide to English parish churches as "very mad Gothic"; it was demolished in 1970 despite protests from the Victorian Society. Now that a modern structure has replaced that, this pillar from the old wall around the churchyard is probably the last surviving bit of the old church.
