Thackeray's Almshouses inscription
The shield and inscription above the central doorways of Image The inscription reads:
"Built and Endowed in 1840, for Six Aged Females, by Iohn Thackeray, of the Priory, Lewisham, who died on the 13th day of May 1851"
The motto below the shield is "tenez le droit" - "hold the right".

Lewisham Pump
This old pump stands on the grass verge just outsode Lewisham Hospital. There is a plate near the top and I think the text on it is: "Turner, Dorset St, Fleet St",
