Lewisham - 1968 Floods
Photo taken on 16th September 1968 near "The Albion" public house looking towards the Clock Tower and Co-op building. Traffic is halted due to flooding from the Quaggy. Photo taken on a very dull day in heavy rain and scanned from an old slide.

Lee High Road SE13 (1)
This is near the centre of Lewisham. I am standing outside a shop which specialises in cosmetic and hair products for Afro-Caribbean people and which also has worldwide money transfer services. Across the road is an internet cafe and a Sri-Lankan restaurant. And on the far left, in the window of the off licence, are numerous posters advertising special rates for overseas phone calls. Just after taking this picture, I ate at a Turkish restaurant on nearby Lewis Grove. Lewisham is indeed a very diverse area. Quaggy River, Lewisham
This river is flowing behind shops on Lee High Road, I do not know what the zig zag is for but I guess it is to slow the flow down before it reaches the bridge I took the picture from. Taken from Clarendon Rise.
