Prince Consort's Lodge, Kennington Park
The Prince Consort's Lodge was originally built in Hyde Park as part of the Great Exhibition of 1851 as an example of a 'model dwelling'. It was designed as two cottages to set an example of what working class housing should be like. It was sponsored by Prince Albert and following the end of the Great Exhibition it was re-erected in Kennington Park in 1852-3.
