Formerly advertising "Ariel, Leaders of Design", written beneath a horse. Ariel manufactured bicycles and motorcycles. At the bottom is the word "Writers", referring to a shop selling their wares.

The Dog House, Kennington Lane
Uncompromising late Victorian pub, well sited at a busy road junction.

To the fore are former gents' underground toilets, dated c1900, behind which is a Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association trough. Grade II listed.
Long neglected, since 2013 the toilets have improbably acted as an arts venue, Artslav.
