Quay Street, Ammanford (Recreated)
Looking north up Quay St, from near the junction with Hall St and angled towards the east side.
This is a recreation of the 1965 photo at Frith: http://www.francisfrith.com/search/wales/dyfed/ammanford/photos/ammanford_A186091.htm
The street is now pedestrianised, and the terraced red brick buildings in the extreme distance have had their pinnacled dormer windows removed when the roof was replaced.

Quay Street, Ammanford (Recreated)
Another shot of Quay Street recreated from the Frith collection.
This time it is a 1936 shot ( http://www.francisfrith.com/search/wales/dyfed/ammanford/photos/ammanford_87811.htm ) of the west side of the street running from south of where Hall Street joins it, up to the town square.
The roof line is much the same in both shots, but the modern buildings have lost all their bay windows and awnings.

Miners' Memorial, Ammanford
This memorial by Howard Bowcott was commissioned in memory of the hundreds of miners who lost their lives in pit disasters or accidents when the coal industry was the major employer in this area. It is composed of layers of slate and sandstone to represent the coalseams; the names of the dead are engraved around it. It was erected in 2006 at the bottom of Quay Street, a busy shopping precinct.

Christian Temple, High Street
The oldest of Ammanford's many chapels, it was originally built in 1782 but enlarged and rebuilt twice during the 19th century to accommodate expanding congregations - such was the massive popularity of nonconformist religion at that time. Nearby however a working men's college hosted atheists and freethinkers.
