An entrance to St David's Shopping Centre, Swansea
Viewed from St David's Place.
The BBC reported in December 2011 that large parts of St David's Shopping Centre are to be demolished. The site has been bought by the city council and the Welsh government as part of the regeneration plans for the city centre. The derelict indoor market hall and other vacant units built in the early 1980s will be demolished and used for car parking in the short term. Premises such as Iceland and Crane's Music Instruments are not affected.

It is an Anglican (Church in Wales) church in the Rectorial Benefice of Central Swansea, Deanery of Swansea, Archdeaconry of Gower in the diocese of Swansea and Brecon. The present church was an early 1950s rebuild following major damage in air raids in the Second World War. The damaged church was a rebuild dating from 1896. There had been earlier churches on this site in the previous several centuries.

Grade II listed The Cross Keys, Swansea
Viewed across Princess Way. The present building is a renovated and modernised version of the original Cross Keys Inn dating from c1600. The earliest known building on this site was St David’s Hospice, the foundations for which were laid in c1332. The text of the foundation grant survives. The hospice probably closed c1550 after which the buildings remained disused and neglected for about 50 years.

Grade II listed statue of Hussey Vivian, Swansea
Located in St Mary's Square viewed looking towards an Iceland store.
A plaque on the pedestal records that the statue was unveiled in 1886 by Lord Aberdare on the site of Island House, Castle Square. The statue was moved to Victoria Park in 1936. It has been in its present location since 1982.
Another plaque on the pedestal records that the statue was erected by the citizens of Swansea in recognition of the eminent service rendered to the port and town by Sir H(enry) Hussey Vivian, Bar(one)t, MP. He was born on July 6 1821, died November 28 1894. It was largely because of his activities in various fields, such as metallurgy and railways, that Swansea became a major industrial centre. The statue and pedestal were Grade II listed in 1987.
