Exchange Buildings, Swansea
This is the Adelaide Street side of a large building extending into Cambrian Place, built in 1913-1916 to provide a meeting place for ship owners, ship brokers and coal & general cargo exporters and their agents. There were offices available for hire on the floors above the exchange.

Queen's Hotel, Swansea
On the corner of Gloucester Place and Cambrian Place. The year 1892 is inscribed in stone on the chimneystack on the left. The Queen's Hotel was a favourite haunt of Swansea's most famous son, the poet and writer Dylan Thomas (1914-1953).

On the corner of Cambrian Place and Burrows Place, formerly the premises of Burgess and Co, shipping agents. Their name remains on ground floor windows, along with some of the companies with which they did business, such as The Maersk Line, Rowbotham Tankships Ltd and Esso Petroleum Co Ltd.

Survivors from Swansea's maritime past
This is the Burrows Place side of Queens Buildings, http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3954322 formerly the premises of Burgess and Co Ltd, shipping agents. Each ground floor window shows the company name and a business with which they dealt. In view are Shell International Marine, Esso Petroleum Co Ltd and Statoil. There are many similar windows.
