Former Abbeydale Station Hotel
Although called Abbeydale Station Hotel it was actually beside Beauchief and Abbey Dale Station, originally known as Abbey Houses station. In more recent years it had become well known as the Beauchief Hotel. Now in the final stages of conversion to apartments, with new houses within a gated compound in the former car park.

Abbeydale Hotel, Beauchief
Originally opened about 1870 near to Abbey Houses (later Beauchief & Abbey Dale) station, with Millhouses & Ecclesall station about a mile to the north towards Sheffield centre; both opened together with the line from Chesterfield to Sheffield in 1870. In more recent days this was known as the Beauchief Hotel. This inscription is in stone facing the Beauchief crossroads immediately outside the building - now transformed into apartments. I should know who T. Bros Ltd were, but it escapes me.
