Originally opened about 1870 near to Abbey Houses (later Beauchief & Abbey Dale) station, with Millhouses & Ecclesall station about a mile to the north towards Sheffield centre; both opened together with the line from Chesterfield to Sheffield in 1870. In more recent days this was known as the Beauchief Hotel. This inscription is in stone facing the Beauchief crossroads immediately outside the building - now transformed into apartments. I should know who T. Bros Ltd were, but it escapes me.
