Backs of 34 to 22 Cope Street
The four houses in the central block, 30 to 24, are set on a curve of the road, meaning that the backs are narrower than the fronts. The houses date from around 1870, although a modern (1980s) extension is visible on number 24.

Numbers 22 to 34 Cope Street
Note numbers 26 and 28 still have the old stairs leading up to the front doors. The block 24 to 30 dates from around 1870 and curve away from the road, meaning that the fronts are wider than the backs.

Steps outside no 26 Cope Street
These old steps and railings are original, the houses date to around the 1870s. Of the four houses in the block only two, 26 and 28 still have the steps and 28 doesn't have the railings. Note the small window into the cellar and the opening in the front wall under the steps that was the coal hole.
