Off road vehicles causing harassment alarm and distress in the local area of Kingstone and Worsbrough causing a nuisance to residents.

Response (22 Oct 2025)

We are currently tackling this issue by using a Problem Oriented Policing Plan. We have completed various actions
1) Seizing vehicles where necessary.
2) Using high definition camera's to obtain identities of those using off road vehicles.
3) Using our powers under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act to issue notices to those using vehicles in an anti-social manner.
4) Utilising support from our partners such as the BMBC off road bike team and Berneslai Homes to take tenancy action for those keeping off road vehicles and acting in an anti-social manner.

This activity will continue throughout the next few months to keep our roads and public places safe for all to use.

Theft of vehicles and damage being caused to vehicles and attempted to be stolen from hotels within the Tankersley area.

Response (22 Oct 2025)

Using a Problem Oriented Policing plan to tackle theft of motor vehicles in and around Tankersley. We have engaged with affected hotels and discussed target hardening improvements to deter offenders.

Our high visibility mobile patrols will continue into the end of the year.

Engagement with schools and community to ensure safety around Dark Nights, including bonfires and correct and safe use of fireworks.

We have engaged with a number of schools and given safety presentations to 100's of school aged children regarding fire and firework safety.

Our activities continue over the next month with engagement stalls at local stores, visibility patrols and tackling robustly those who wish to use fireworks for a purpose other than intended.

Off road vehicles causing harassment alarm and distress in the local area of Kendray and Worsbrough causing a nuisance to residents.

2) Using high definition cameras to obtain identities of those using off road vehicles.
3) Using our powers under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act to issue notices to those using vehicles in an anti-social manner.
4) Utilising support from our partners such as the BMBC off road bike team and Berneslai Homes to take tenancy action for those keeping off road vehicles and acting in an anti-social manner.

On 30th December 2025 we held a joint operation with the SYP Motorcycle and Rural Crime Team and BMBC to target those riding in an anti-social manner. 3 stolen bikes were found and seized and 3 off road bikes were seized for no insurance.

This activity will continue throughout the next few months to keep our roads and public places safe for all to use.

Youths causing anti-social behaviour and nuisance to local residents and business owners.

We have taken steps to reduce ASB in this area.

1) We have held mulit-agency meetings with BMBC and Berneslai Homes to discuss actions which can be taken such as tenancy warning action to those who live in Berneslai Homes properties.
2) High visibility patrols taking place with PC's and PCSO's in the area to deal robustly with those wanting to commit ASB.
3) Working with local business owners to reduce ASB on premises.
4) Utilising actions through Problem Oriented Policing Plan to tackle ASB.

Actions will continue into the next months to reduce ASB in this location.
