Priorities
1 Jan 2024 | Concerns were raised re a property on Horsewood Close, Dodworth, due to the amount of ASB being caused at the property, due to the drug and alcohol use at the property at all times of day and night. Response (14 Mar 2024)We worked alongside BMBC, and local residents to secure a partial closure order at the property. |
1 Jan 2024 | Youth ASB - Market Barn, Tesco and skate park (Penistone) Response (14 Mar 2024)We have increased patrols in the area as well as completed joint work with BMBC and youth services. Enforcement has been carried out as well as diversion work. This will be an ongoing joint approach. |
1 Jan 2024 | Members of the Worsborough community raised concerns regarding a number of serious incidents. Response (14 Mar 2024)Partnership work was completed with BMBC and Bernslai Homes to ensure the community felt safe. Some of the work included days of action, fixing street lights, increasing CCTV and extra work from the graffiti and fly tipping teams. This joint work will continue. |
1 Jan 2024 | Speeding Doncaster Road/ Ardsley Hill. Response (14 Mar 2024)Speeding checks are being completed on a regular basis by our team. The majority of drivers have been found within the speed limit. Where they have not a mixture of advice and enforcement has been used. Information passed to us from the community is also being passed to the Speed Camera Partnership. |

The latest speeding check conducted was on 3rd July 2024 where our team stood with the handheld laser speed device. The majority of drivers have been found within the speed limit. Where they have not a mixture of advice and enforcement has been used. Information passed to us from the community is also being passed to the Speed Camera Partnership. |

Response (3 Aug 2024)Road safety remains a priority for our team. I hope you have seen the team out and about recently using the handheld laser speed device. We have recently been on The majority of drivers are driving to the posted speed limit and driving to the conditions of the road. However, we have recently completed 6 traffic offence reports for those not doing so. |

22 Oct 2024 | We have had numerous calls about off road vehicles in Gilroyd and Dodworth causing harassment, alarm and distress to the community. Response (22 Oct 2024)We have increased our presence in both villages - mainly Gilroyd in attempts to identify riders, stop riders and seize vehicles where appropriate. We have already given out a number of anti social behaviour warning to those riding in an anti social fashion and we have seized vehicles. We are working with community residents, the local councillors and partners to ensure living and working in Gilroyd is a safe place for all road users. |

12 Oct 2024 | Off road vehicles causing harassment alarm and distress in the local area of Kingstone and Worsbrough causing a nuisance to residents. Response (12 Oct 2024)With support from our BMBC colleagues we conducted an operation on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th October 2024. Using the police helicopter to help us track vehicles we were able to seize 1 illegal off road bike. Throughout the course of the evening we were then able to take an untaxed vehicle off the road and another off road vehicle from the Worsbrough area. |
