Access to the level crossing and track is locked.

Heavy maintenance at Kilnhurst Lock
The lock gates appear to have been removed and piling added to the lock walls. Kilnhurst Lock provides access to Kilnhurst cut from the River Don. The railway is the former Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway line from Sheffield to Doncaster. This rarely sees passenger trains but does carry quite heavy freight traffic.
