Who wouldn't enjoy walking on a beautiful day like this ... and the views from Green Moor are superb. Shame the local pub - The Rock - has closed.

Green Moor School, Green Moor Road, Green Moor, near Wortley
The former School House - probably allocated to the Headmaster - and the former School are furthest from the camera - both are now private residences. The nearest property is called Maple Corner, and, as far as I know, is nothing to do with the school. The school has a dated plaque on the front reading '1879 Hunshelf School Board, No 1, Greenmoor School' ... I'm not sure that the Hunshelf School Board was responsible for any other schools but were obviously proud to own this one! The spelling of Greenmoor is interesting but probably not surprising ...
Image ... Update in April 2010 ... I have subsequently been in touch with David Horsfall, Clerk to the Hunshelf Parish Council, who has kindly confirmed that this was the one and only school run by Hunshelf School Board.
