Sheffield, S1 - Canal Basin
A view of the entrance/exit of the canal basin through the restored straddle warehouse. "The Staddle" was a warehouse built on stilts across the basin constructed between 1895–98 at a time when more storage space was required but little space existed upon which to expand.

Terminal Warehouse, Wharf Street, Sheffield
The earliest building associated with the former Sheffield Canal Basin - built in 1819 and restored in 1994. Grade II* listed. At right angles is a former warehouse of 1889 for the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway Company, used as a grain silo from 1925. A pair of hoists survive. Grade II listed. Both now flats.

Sheffield, S1 - Canal Basin
The Terminal Warehouse with three loading bays (or tunnels) beneath it allowing for boats arriving here during the 19th century to be moored under cover and cargo to be unloaded in an easier and more protected fashion. The Grain Warehouse on the right, also built in 1890s, has the obvious beenfit of an elongated solid canopy allowing for the easier, protected unloading of grain. Both were restored in 1999 as part of the "Victoria Quays" restoration project.

Terminal Warehouse - Victoria Quays
Also known as the Grain Warehouse, built in 1819. At the time it was one of the largest buildings in Sheffield, it was designed so that keel boats and barges could enter the building to be loaded and unloaded in the dry.
