Parish church of St John the Evangelist, Abbeydale
Built in 1873 this church was originally in the See of Canterbury but is now in the See of York. It has moved from the Diocese of Lichfield, to the Diocese of Southwell in 1884, to the Diocese of Derby in 1928 and finally to the Diocese of Sheffield in 1974.

Freightliner 66620 and empties
On a roundabout route from Willesden to Barrowhill via Crewe and the Hope Valley.
It was closely followed down the Hope Valley by another freight service from Tunstead Quarry to Wellingborough. It went round the Dore curve, Dore South Junction and via Chesterfield.

Dore West Junction
From West View Lane car park.
The track in the distance was singled in 1985 and extends through Dore & Totley station as far as Dore Station Junction about 1 km to the north. This is to be redoubled over the next 18 months.
The track diverging to the right leads to Dore South Junction and the Midland Mainline going south. That track is to be extended to make a third track from a new turn out position behind this camera position and the present junction will be removed.
Northern Class 195 on Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield service creeps up to the junction.

Going broad gauge
This line is due to be redoubled in 2018, so relaying now seems strange. However there is currently a speed restriction on this curve, so it must be worn out.
