From West View Lane car park. The track in the distance was singled in 1985 and extends through Dore & Totley station as far as Dore Station Junction about 1 km to the north. This is to be redoubled over the next 18 months. The track diverging to the right leads to Dore South Junction and the Midland Mainline going south. That track is to be extended to make a third track from a new turn out position behind this camera position and the present junction will be removed. Northern Class 195 on Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield service creeps up to the junction.
