House on the corner of Deerings Road, Reigate
This house stands at the corner of Deerings Road and Reigate Road, so is a bit of a landmark. I find it altogether rather handsome, but the stuccoed gables are most unusual. Two 'medallions' (as Pevsner might call them) give the date of building: 'A.D.' (on the left), '1899' (on the right). Generations of owners have to be thanked for having looked after these interesting features.
The overall style of the building - it seems to me - would not be out of place in the north-eastern USA.
