Job's Lane
The remains of the original lane that was truncated when the new A2300 was built in 1997. Previously the lane formed a crossroads on the old A23 at Hickstead and was a well known rat run between that and Burgess Hill. In the foreground the lane has become a cycle and pedestrian route whilst vehicles still have access as far as Northlands Farmhouse.

Job's Lane
Looking west from Image the former lane is now used as vehicular access for Northlands Farmhouse only. Beyond that the lane is reduced to a cycle and footpath to Hickstead Services. The lane was a rat run used by residents of Burgess Hill to access the A23 until the new link road, the A2300, was opened in 1997.

A2300
Opened in 1997 to create a new direct route from Burgess Hill to the A23. Previously a number of country lanes had been used to travel between the two. Taken from the crossroads with Pookbourne and Stairbridge Lanes with the road heading westwards towards Hickstead services.

The road leading off to the right at the end of the path runs for about 40ft, then terminates at a field gate. They must have had a bit of tarmac left over.
