Looking west from Image the former lane is now used as vehicular access for Northlands Farmhouse only. Beyond that the lane is reduced to a cycle and footpath to Hickstead Services. The lane was a rat run used by residents of Burgess Hill to access the A23 until the new link road, the A2300, was opened in 1997.
