Opened in 1951 as Haywards Heath Primary it later became Heyworth until 2012 when it was taken over by the trust that runs Warden Park in Cuckfield. The blue plaque above the gatepost on the right is for the author Anna Sewell who resided for a time at Petlands, a nearby house long gone, whose grounds covered much of the area now containing the school.

9-13, Heath Road, Haywards Heath
Heath Road is one of the earliest new roads of the town having been laid out after the enclosure of the old heath in 1858. There are no houses on the road on the 1874 OS map, however, number 13 on the right makes its first appearance on the 1897 edition whilst the two houses beyond, partially obscured by trees, were in place by the 1910 version.

New England Road, Haywards Heath
The current road runs from Hazelgrove road to the eastern junction with Bentswood Road where it becomes America Lane. Prior to the 18890s it was little more than a track which would be straightened and gradually developed, the houses on the right were built during the Edwardian period and larger than some of the victorian cottages further east. Beyond them is Warden Park Primary Academy.
