Pickers Green, Lindfield
Built in the 1960s on former open fields after a compromise agreement was reached whereby the northern two would become open space, see Image, and the southern two be developed for housing. The old public footpath that ran through the fields still exists on the eastern side of the estate. The estate is named after an old crossroads on Hickmans Lane called Pickesgreen Cross.

The Witch Inn, Sunte Avenue, Lindfield
Opened in 1845 at an old crossroads called Pickesgreen Cross on what was then open fields. Originally called the Bricklayers Arms it acquired its current name after the First World War. For a number of years from the mid 1980s up until around 2007 it was owned by former Derby County, Brighton & Hove Albion and Republic of Ireland international footballer Gerry Ryan.
