Ruscombe
Cottages on Church Lane and the tower of St James's church. This is the villagey part of Ruscombe which also includes a more suburban area to the east of Twyford.

House at Ruscombe
Adjacent to the green opposite the church, this seems to be a desirable house in a desirable location. The bag of ballast or sand from Wickes presumably indicates that some building work is taking place here.

St James' church, interior
Looking west from the chancel along the nave, which was rebuilt in 1638-9. There is a heavy oak west door that looks older, but I can't find its date.

St James' church, interior
Looking east from the nave towards the chancel. The nave dates from a rebuilding of 1638-9, whilst the chancel is 13th century. Despite the small windows there is a lot of light in the church; this photo was taken using only the natural light.

St James' church interior
One of the stained glass windows and an angel mural in the small 13th century chancel windows on the south side.

St James' church
Most of the church was rebuilt in 1638-9, an unusual time for church building. The red brick tower looks very bulky in relation to its height.
