The Village of Sticker
Sticker village grew up with the mining industry in the 19th century. When that industry declined in the latter half of the century, people were able to find work in the local china clay industry. Although the clay industry is still here, it became increasingly mechanised through the latter half of the 20th century and ceased to be a major employer.

St Mark's Mission Church, Sticker
This is a mission church, i.e. one that was built to allow people to worship locally as the parish church, St Mewan, is at some distance from the village of Sticker. The church was opened in 1877 and has a regular and dedicated congregation. Inside, the church is plain but with a friendly feel to it. My thanks to the parish priest for allowing me a look inside and for most of the above information.
I note that at the time of writing a couple of other websites which purport to show a photograph of this church have misidentified the old church hall as the church itself.
