Barrisdale
A rare inhabited house on the north coast of Knoydart. Barrisdale is a popular base for hill trips, one of the jobs here is to keep an eye on the visitors, one lot took to dismantling bridges for firewood.

Tents and bothy at Barrisdale, 1991
Two tents, (there were others), and the bothy / bunkhouse at Barrisdale in perfect weather for making ascents to the three Munros in the vicinity.
Another Munro is in view distantly at the centre of the image: Beinn Sgritheall, across Loch Hourn, a small section of which can be seen.

Deer grazing on the flats at Barrisdale
These animals seem to have no real concerns about human presence, unlike the ones you see high in the hills, which scarper sharpish when they spot walkers.

Barrisdale campsite in early morning
At the start of another brilliant day; Knoydart is in a heatwave. The campsite is still in the shadow of Beinne Bhuidhe. Luinne Bheinn, the objective of the day, rears up in the background.

Barrisdale campsite
On the right is the building part of which is a bothy, and also has water supplies and a couple of toilets for the campsite. The peak poking over the horizon is Stob a' Chearchaill, an offshoot of Ladhar Bheinn.

Activity at Barrisdale campsite
Knoydart isn't quite the wilderness sometimes imagined, especially here when the White House has been hired as a base for helicopter practice, which consisted of transferring materials to and from the tops of nearby peaks.
