Fletton Branch - Nene Valley Railway
The preserved Nene Valley Railway runs from Wansford into Peterborough. A connection to the east coast main line is provided by the Fletton loop seen here branching away to the right. The line to the terminus in Peterborough is on the left.

Fletton Branch Railway at Longueville Junction (1)
This is the old Great Northern Railway's Fletton Branch Railway at its approach to the former London & North Western Railway's Northampton to Peterborough line at Longueville Junction. Today the branch line enables a connection to be made between Network Rail tracks and the Nene Valley Railway.
The semaphore signal is interesting, not the least because of the paint job. Either the paint ran out or the ladder wasn't high enough or a breach of health and safety working at heights regulations was going to happen!

Fletton Branch Railway at Longueville Junction (2)
This is the old Great Northern Railway's Fletton Branch Railway at its approach to the former London & North Western Railway's Northampton to Peterborough line (on the right) at Longueville Junction, viewed from the pedestrian crossing. Today the branch line enables a connection to be made between Network Rail tracks and the Nene Valley Railway. Both these railway lines were originally double tracked.
