This is the old Great Northern Railway's Fletton Branch Railway at its approach to the former London & North Western Railway's Northampton to Peterborough line at Longueville Junction. Today the branch line enables a connection to be made between Network Rail tracks and the Nene Valley Railway. The semaphore signal is interesting, not the least because of the paint job. Either the paint ran out or the ladder wasn't high enough or a breach of health and safety working at heights regulations was going to happen!
