23-25 Argyll Square & 1-6 Albany Street, Oban - April 2016
A Category C listed building, built 1888 and possibly designed by Architect G E Woulfe Brenan in the Italianate style. The different coloured stone building on the right is 7-9 Albany Street, designed by John C Hay of Edinburgh and completed in 1889. It is Category B listed. 7-9 Albany Street, Oban - May 2016
Designed by architect John C Hay of Edinburgh and built 1889 for "the Trustees of Oban Lodge Commercial No.180 of Freemasons", this 2-storey, 3-bay symmetrical terraced building has shops on the ground floor, while the first floor houses the local Masonic Hall. Various Masonic symbols can be seen above the first floor windows. Category B listed. Oban - 1973
Oban, Albany Street. Oban is a resort town within the Argyll and Bute council area of Scotland. Despite its small size, it is the largest town between Helensburgh and Fort William and during the tourist season the town can be crowded by up to 25,000 people.

Argyll Square Church
Built in 1888 by John Fraser Sim for the Free Church of Scotland. In 1900 it was united with the Church of Scotland and became known as the United Free Church. In 1949 to merged with St Columba's United Presbyterian Church and became known as St Columba's. The church originally had a much taller steeple of 128 feet high but it was found to be unsafe and removed in 1976. It closed in 1984. For a short time it was used as a nightclub and then for several years was the Tourist Information Office. It is now looking for a new buyer.
