Sculpture beside the cycle path
It looks industrial, like the view that it would have framed. Among the details are an artist's palette and a broad paintbrush. Earlier views: Image / Image
As the map shows, the ground slopes down here on the northern side of the cycle path. The sculpture is beside the start of a path that branches off from the cycle route, and which leads directly to the built-up area of Gibshill (the easternmost part of Greenock), which is built on the slope.
The resulting gap in the path-side vegetation gives a view to the Firth of Clyde and the southern end of the Rosneath Peninsula. The visible skyline peaks range from Creachan Mòr (Image) on the left to Beinn Reithe (Image) on the right.
