Former A8 in Port Glasgow
This two way street was until fairly recently the west-bound carriageway of the A8. The Glasgow to Gourock and Wemyss Bay railway line is on the left, the junction for Gourock and Wemyss Bay is just beyond the road sign (roundabout).

Greenock Road
Now reduced to a single carriageway, this was the A8 dual carriageway through Port Glasgow from 1973 until 2007. It replaced the original A8 which ran along Ardgowan Street Image Greenock Road was replaced by a new dual carriageway which runs along the waterfront Image

Bus shelter on Greenock Road
This used to be the A8 dual carriageway, but it was singled when the new A8 opened along the waterfront in 2007. The Glasgow to Gourock & Wemyss Bay railway line runs behind.
