Before the garage was built there was an Ordnance Survey cut mark benchmark on the corner of the property's boundary wall here. The mark was levelled at 61.30m above Newlyn datum in 1971.

The Terrace, Park Town, North Oxford
At the east end of Park Town, a small garden the shape of a flattened semi-circle is faced by a crescent of Regency-style houses; a path cuts through the garden and aligns with an arch at a break in the crescent. Beyond the arch lies a public footpath along the back of the buildings, part of a cycle route from the town centre to North Oxford.
As the date over the arch indicates, The Terrace (the crescent of buildings) dates from 1855.

Lady Margaret Hall
The two oldest buildings at LMH, which was founded in 1878 make up the range on the right, Old Hall. The screen across the entrance with its minimal windows and portal was designed by the extraordinary Raymond Erith, a Georgian architect who happened to be working in the mid-twentieth century. I don't find the effect improved by the two new porticoes closing in from left and right.

Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford: Porter's Lodge
This relatively-new construction moves the entrance a little further up Norham Gardens than was previously the case, and brings some college-owned housing within the perimeter of the college.
