The two oldest buildings at LMH, which was founded in 1878 make up the range on the right, Old Hall. The screen across the entrance with its minimal windows and portal was designed by the extraordinary Raymond Erith, a Georgian architect who happened to be working in the mid-twentieth century. I don't find the effect improved by the two new porticoes closing in from left and right.
