The Beehive (1), 18 Black Bourton Road, Carterton, Oxon
Carterton currently only has three public houses which is very unusual for a town of about 20,000 people and growing rapidly. The Beehive is the oldest and dates from 1932 but has been much extended since then. It was built for the Burford brewers Garne & Sons Limited in the early days of the nearby RAF base. In 1969 the brewery and its tied pubs were acquired by Wadsworths Brewery of Devizes, Wiltshire. It has remained a Wadworths house since then. It serves food and has very late closing times on Fridays & Saturdays.

Barclays Bank, 12 Black Bourton Road, Carterton, Oxon
As far as banks are concerned, Barclays will soon be the only one standing in Carterton as HSBS closes its branch on the 5th May 2017 and the local branch of Lloyds Bank closes on the 25th September 2017. At least Lloyds will be providing a mobile banking service. The Barclays branch has restricted opening hours as it only opens (currently) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Next door at 14 Black Bourton Road is New Dragon House, a Chinese & English takeaway.
Update October 2019:- Sadly Barclays closed this branch on the 5th July 2019 leaving the town without any banks but there is a post office in the ASDA store. Subsequently the building has become a Ladbrokes betting shop. See:- Image

Ladbrokes, Black Bourton Road, Carterton, Oxon
This building used to be the local branch of Barclays Bank. It closed on the 5th July 2019, leaving the town without any banks although there is a post office within the ASDA supermarket. Now the building is a betting shop, part of the Ladbrokes chain.
