As far as banks are concerned, Barclays will soon be the only one standing in Carterton as HSBS closes its branch on the 5th May 2017 and the local branch of Lloyds Bank closes on the 25th September 2017. At least Lloyds will be providing a mobile banking service. The Barclays branch has restricted opening hours as it only opens (currently) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Next door at 14 Black Bourton Road is New Dragon House, a Chinese & English takeaway. Update October 2019:- Sadly Barclays closed this branch on the 5th July 2019 leaving the town without any banks but there is a post office in the ASDA store. Subsequently the building has become a Ladbrokes betting shop. See:- Image
