Looking west along the street from outside Barnet's Local Studies and Archive Centre towards the junction with Birkbeck Road. A 240 bus is just moving off from the stop on its way to Golders Green.

Corner Shops on Daws Lane
Located next to the Junction with Birkbeck Road. The nearest is a car audio store, whilst Lodges is a more traditional grocers / newsagent. Mill Hill Motors occupies the area beside and behind the shops, specialising in MOT tests. There is also a florists stall - though no sign of the florist while I was there. Possibly they were inside one of the shops having a chat.

Barnet Local Studies and Archive Centre
80 Daws Lane. This building has seen a number of uses in the past and is currently used to house historical documents relating to the Borough of Barnet going back many centuries. I can remember that it was once the home of Barnet's public safety unit - we went there for advice on child car seats. It has also been home to a young persons drug and alcohol service. The building may originally have been associated with Mill Hill swimming pool which opened in 1935, although the site of the pool itself is currently occupied by a garden centre.
