Former shops on Belsize Rd
This position appears not to be a good one to open a shop, the former Antiques shop is now derelict and the two premises next to it have been converted into residential accommodation.

Abbey Estate, Abbey Road
This is Casterbridge. The estate was built for Hampstead Borough Council in 1965 by Austin-Smith, Salmon, Lord Partnership. Pevsner is withering: "an ungainly group of coarsely detailed twenty-storey towers ... awkwardly linked by bridges ... a half-hearted demonstration of the 1960s concern with pedestrian segregation". They have clearly been refurbished in recent years, a process which has, as usual, expunged all traces of concrete.

Emminster on Abbey Road, West Hampstead
A classic example of 1970s brutalism, a block of flats which imitates a multi-storey car park. Maybe they used the same plans and just changed the inside.
