This is Casterbridge. The estate was built for Hampstead Borough Council in 1965 by Austin-Smith, Salmon, Lord Partnership. Pevsner is withering: "an ungainly group of coarsely detailed twenty-storey towers ... awkwardly linked by bridges ... a half-hearted demonstration of the 1960s concern with pedestrian segregation". They have clearly been refurbished in recent years, a process which has, as usual, expunged all traces of concrete.
