True Buddha Temple, 265 Willesden Lane, Willesden Green
This building was formerly a Welsh boys school which, in the mid-1990's, was converted to its present use as a Buddhist temple.
Like most others, the Buddhist faith has many strands. The True Buddha school is quite recent, having been formed in the mid-1980's by Sheng-Yen Lu, who was born in 1945 in Taiwan. As well as being essentially a Buddhist sect, it is strongly influenced by Taoist strands of thought. There are about 35 major temples, and around 5 million followers around the world. Sheng-Yen Lu is the Grand Master, and is apparently revered by his students as a Living Buddha, Lian-Shen.

Rutland Park Mansions, Willesden Green, London NW2
An article in an October 1993 issue of Construction News stated that Paddington Churches Housing Association (PCHA) had agreed to refurbish Rutland Park Mansions, claimed to be Europe's largest squat, after months of protests by residents against demolition. The facade was preserved whereas the interior was rebuilt.
A PCHA plaque on the side of the building records that the refurbished mansions were opened by Nick Raynsford MP on July 22nd 1996.
