Built in the 1920s to the designs of an architects in the Office of Works. A fine example of the inter-war neo-Georgian "house-style" for public service buildings.

Golders Green Telephone Exchange (1)
Situated in Hoop Lane NW11 8JS, this photo shows the ornate front door, although the wording "TELEPHONE EXCHANGE" has since been removed above it. Besides Golders Green, this TE also serves Child's Hill and Hampstead Garden Suburb nearby. The vehicle entrance can be seen to the left of the photo.

Golders Green Telephone Exchange (2)
Taken in Golders Way, this photo shows the back and side of this TE which dates from the 1920s. It used to have MEAdway and SPEedwell numbers until the late 1960s, but now has 0208-209, 455 and 458 numbers, plus some other Outer London numbers.
