Shop display outside Shutlers on Bridge Lane
Shutlers is one of the few shops which has been there for over 50 years, sold from the original local family to another but still barely changed inside, using all the original storage and counters as before.

Shop display outside Shutlers on Bridge Lane
People in Temple Fortune are clearly very honest, these are outside the shop whenever it is open but no evidence of anyone stealing despite being fairly hard to monitor from inside. As well as the shop being there well over 50 years the era appears to be similar when passing it by. I have many of my curtain fittings from their extensive supply of boxes, as well as other home fixings.

Finchley Road in 1987
Besides the usage of some of the shops the view has not changed at all. The shop on the right corner was Brentford Nylons, although I can't see if it was still there in this picture. The Royal Oak pub opposite closed in the late 2000s and is now a shop. It is one of the only remaining Victorian buildings in the area, the rest in that parade having been demolished. A couple of terraces remain from the total just behind it in Hendon Park Row.
