Mirror on traffic lights to show cyclists to drivers
Mirrors have recently been installed at several junctions in this area of Ealing. This one is seen from Old Oak Lane, looking towards Victoria Road. The photographer is in the yellow jacket, standing just on the pavement. As well as showing that the bus driver will have a clear view down the side of the bus, it shows how important it is for cyclists to wear high visibility clothing. The bus is a 266.

Converging Tracks
The old North & South Western Junction tracks on the left converge with the North London Railway ones on the right. Sitting between them on the site of one-time freight yards is Powerday's Harlesden waste recycling centre.

Acton Bound
66040 brings the 6V06 Crawley Foster Yeoman - Acton Yard service through Willesden South West Sidings / Old Oak Sidings towards Old Oak Junction. As recently as the 1980's the sidings were full of wagons and required a shunter on duty to move them around - see Image Now they have been rationalised and it is rare to see any wagons standing in the few sidings that remain. This is a result of the move from wagonload traffic to trainload bulk operations where rail is able to compete effectively with road. Behind is the Powerday recycling complex which, among other things, produces hardcore for the construction industry from recycled materials.
