St Andrew's Church, Thursford
St Andrew’s Church, Thursford stands in a hollow in the fields (there isn't really a Thursford village; the name is famous for Image] a mile or so away). Apart from the tower (14th century) and the north doorway (ca 1200), the church was almost completely rebuilt in the early 1860s.
It is a grade II* listed building (English Heritage Building ID: 224018 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-224018-church-of-st-andrew-thursford-norfolk#.Vcp5snnbKHs British Listed Buildings).

St Andrew's Church
The church of St. Andrew is mainly medieval, with the doorway being c.1200 in date and the tower being early 14th century. As with many rural churches, it was rebuilt in the 19th century although a small 15th century window has survived in the vestry. The stained glass in the east window of the church was designed by Rev. Arthur Moore in 1862 and has been described as being one of the most beautiful windows of its time in England, if not in Europe, and better than the later William Morris-style designs of the 1920s.

Thursford WW1 Memorial
The Memorial is on the north wall of the church. The WW2 memorial hangs on the south wall. One of the names is duplicated on the Gunthorpe memorial.

Thursford WW2 memorial
The only casualty from the village in WW2 is named on the marble plaque. The WW1 memorial can be seen here. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4583521
Flg Off. P.F. Boulter was the Flight Engineer on 514 Sqdn Lancaster LL685 GI-G2 that had departed Waterbeach at 1706hrs for Ops Braunschweig on 14/01/44.
The aircraft was intercepted W of Bennebostel by a Night-Fighter and shot down. The aircraft crashed 800m West of Bennebostel, 5km S of Celle, Germany at 19:05 with the loss of all seven crew, all of whom are buried in Hanover War Cemetery.
