Dudwick Lodge (Pink Thatched Building), Brook Street, Buxton
Dudwick Lodge was originally a 16th century thatched and timber framed building and enlarged in 1652. It is now composed of a number of materials, timber, pebble-dash, flint and red brick. In the 18th century, the building became the gate lodge for Dudwick House. Entrance to Dudwick Estate
This is the access road to Dudwick House and Dudwick Cottage which also serves as a public footpath. A cattle grid prevents livestock from straying, and the gate beside it provides access for walkers. A sign attached to the gate asks walkers not to leave the footpath.
