Crane Street Chambers, Pontypool
Viewed across the northeast end of Crane Street in July 2020. The Crane Street Chambers name is in the middle. The roundel on the wall at the top of the building shows the year 1987. A red E.ON stand in the doorway of the former Stead & Simpson store, Pontypool
E.ON is one of the UK's leading power and gas companies, generating electricity, and retailing power and gas. Their temporarily vacant stand, used by staff trying to persuade passers-by to switch to E.ON, is in the doorway of empty premises on the corner of Crane Street and George Street, opposite a Co-operative Bank branch. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3329609 This corner store was formerly a branch of shoe sellers Stead & Simpson. Earlier, it was a Peglers grocery shop.

Town Bridge, Pontypool
The view to the SW across the bridge, opened in 1924. A plaque http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2392745 on the bridge records that the pilaster (on which the plaque is affixed) contains copies of working drawings of the bridge and particulars to facilitate reconstruction or extension. The bridge carries Park Road over the Afon Lwyd river.
