Police Box , Russell Drive, Malpas, Newport
On the several occasions I've walked past this box recently, there were no signs
of activity inside. That's not a window on the left side (hardly sensible), but a notice board , empty in this shot. The colours visible in the notice board are in the reflection of a van parked opposite - unavoidable on a very bright day.Compare the design with a more colourful example on the other side of the city.http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/636069

Bus route 19, Russell Drive, Malpas, Newport
Viewed from the corner of Blackett Avenue, a Newport Bus single-decker on route 19 is at the top end of Russell Drive, about to turn right into Malpas Road on its return journey from Oliphant Circle to the central bus station. The outward route is bus station to Oliphant Circle via Malpas Road, Westfield Drive, Russell Drive, Edison Ridge and Whittle Drive.

Malpas Road bus route 18, Newport
Viewed from a footbridge across Malpas Road, a Newport Bus single-decker on route 18 is at the bus stop opposite Russell Drive on its return journey to the central bus station.
Route 18 operates from the central bus station via Malpas Road to Almond Drive, Rowan Way, Pillmawr Road and Pilton Vale and returns via Rowan Way, Almond Drive and Malpas Road.

Newport : former Malpas Medical Centre for sale
The building is at 535 Malpas Road, on the corner of Russell Drive. Following the retirement in autumn 2010 of Dr Satish Jethwa, who ran the practice single-handedly, the centre was staffed by locum family doctors provided through the health board, until closure in April 2011. The more than 2,000 patients of the former medical centre have transferred to Malpas Brook practice, or were helped to find another surgery.

Russell Drive barber shop, Malpas, Newport
The corner premises (on the right) have had several uses in recent years, including a greengrocery and a butcher's premises. Currently, it is occupied by a barber shop. It neighbours on the left are Numark Pharmacy and Stefanettes unisex salon.
