Debris remaining after the former Capitol car park was demolished in Newport
Viewed over a fence in John Frost Square on the morning of Sunday January 12th 2014, less than an hour after the derelict former Capitol multi-storey car park was blown up by about 30 kilograms of explosives as part of the major redevelopment of the city centre. A layer of dust covers surfaces.

Partial closure of Newport bus station
Viewed on Monday October 28th 2013, the first day of the partial closure of Newport bus station. Bays 1 to 11 on this side of the barrier remain open. Bays 12-31 ahead are fenced off and will be demolished as part of a major city centre redevelopment. The original plan was that the whole bus station would be closed from today, but the smaller replacement bus station in Market Square is not yet ready. Buses formerly using the closed bays have been relocated to various city centre bus stops as a temporary measure.

Newport: mosaic in the bus station toilets
The general feeling of glum and run-downness at the bus station is at least partly compensated for with a colourful entrance to the public conveniences. I cannot vouch for the inside, though.
