Matalan at owners risk
One of about a dozen such signs in the carpark of Matalan Newport. Is it a legal requirement to display an 'at owner's risk' message, or are they playing it safe?

Matalan, Newport
Matalan Clearance Store, Seven Stiles Avenue,Newport Retail Park. A comment by a Matalan customer appears to summarise their business well - "If you are not after the latest fashion, but a good bargain, then this is the place to go"

Stepped boulders and a fence blocking Langditch Lane, Newport
I don't know the reason for the steps cut into the boulders. There is a gap in the fence, just out of shot on the right, for walkers to pass through.

Boulders in Langditch Lane, Newport
The road behind the camera is blocked http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3425862 and there are boulders in the road ahead. Langditch Lane formerly led to a sports club, now demolished. A view http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1580568 in 2009 was taken before the boulders were in place.

Rubbish and gate across Seven Stiles Avenue, Newport
Viewed in January 2016. Beyond the NE corner of Newport Retail Park, the locked gate prevents the passage of motor vehicles. Walkers can bypass the gate on the right if they are willing to step over dumped rubbish.

Path to a disused football stand, Langditch Lane, Newport
The metal gate posts remain, but the gate has gone. The stand and football pitch were formerly used by Llanwern AFC, who now play their home games at Newport Stadium. The club was founded as Spencer Works in 1963. This pitch is close to what was at that time the western edge of Spencer Steelworks.
