The metal gate posts remain, but the gate has gone. The stand and football pitch were formerly used by Llanwern AFC, who now play their home games at Newport Stadium. The club was founded as Spencer Works in 1963. This pitch is close to what was at that time the western edge of Spencer Steelworks.
