Beeston Canal, Beeston Rylands
The back gardens of houses on Cornwall Avenue run down to the Beeston Canal giving home owners the opportunity of private moorings. The Beeston Canal gives boats access to central Nottingham avoiding Beeston Weir on the River Trent.

Meadow Road, Beeston Rylands
The area in Beeston between the railway and the Beeston Canal is known as the Rylands and was traditionally part of the River Trent's floodplain - the last major flood in the area was in 1947. Flood prevention measures made it possible to develop this flat land extensively for housing in the 1960s.
